About this role

You’ll be responsible for executing scientific communication and evidence‑support activities in response to Commercial business needs. This includes developing and delivering publications, abstracts, and presentations; conducting medical reviews of claims; and preparing technical documents that support commercial claims.

The role oversees the Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) program and provides subject matter expertise for In-Market Assessments (IMAs). You will support cross‑functional responses to competitor challenges and off‑label inquiries, ensuring scientific outputs align with Commercial priorities while meeting regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Clinical, and R&D teams to translate business needs into compliant scientific communications. You will also manage relationships with key opinion leaders and influencers, providing scientific expertise while maintaining strict compliance boundaries. This role is central to ensuring scientific accuracy in promotional and educational materials.

This position offers the opportunity to shape scientific communication strategy and lead the Investigator Initiated Studies program. You will provide scientific input to global brand and regional marketing teams, influencing commercial strategies with robust evidence. Based in Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, moving to a new facility in Nursling, Southampton in 2026.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to translate Commercial business needs into compliant, scientifically robust communication materials.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing scientific publications, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of medical review processes (MLR/AdPromo) and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage the Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) program and identify strategic gaps.
  • Subject matter expertise in a relevant therapeutic area to serve as SME for In-Market Assessments.
  • Experience preparing technical memos, data-on-file documents, and executive summaries to support commercial claims.
  • Knowledge of handling off-label inquiries and competitor challenges in a non-promotional capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review all scientific materials including publications, conference abstracts and presentations based on priorities defined by Commercial/Professional Affairs.
  • Oversee the Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) program based on strategic gaps identified by Commercial, Clinical, and R&D.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for In-Market Assessments (IMAs) as requested by Commercial partners.
  • Conduct clinical/medical review of claims and serve as SME for promotional and educational materials to ensure accuracy, balance, and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage technical memos, data-on-file documents, and executive summaries to support claims and commercial strategies.
  • Support Commercial/Professional affairs in managing relationships with key opinion leaders and influencers by providing scientific expertise.
  • Facilitate response to competitor challenges initiated by Commercial or Legal, ensuring claims are supported by high-quality, compliant evidence.
  • Provide scientific guidance for off-label inquiries when requested by Commercial teams, consistent with Medical Affairs' non-promotional role.
