About this role
This role supervises and provides inputs to data management and statistical analyses for outsourced real-world studies (RWS), while also taking a leading statistical role for RWS using in-house datasets. The position is based in Beijing and supports Sanofi's commitment to generating robust real-world evidence across therapeutic areas.
Day-to-day responsibilities include interacting with CROs to ensure timeliness and quality of statistical deliverables, performing programming and analytical activities for data cleaning and post-hoc analyses, and advising internal Medical teams on study design and interpretation of statistical results. The role also involves aligning with stakeholders on planning, delivering, and communicating statistical analyses and scientific reports.
The Data Scientist works within a multi-cultural, cross-functional team environment, collaborating closely with medical, data management, and external data providers. This position continuously assesses the growth and accessibility of external real-world data assets, evaluating data quality and fitness-for-purpose to enable compliant and efficient engagement models.

Requirements
- Master degree in biostatistics/statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, or relevant fields
- At least 2 years of working experience, preferably on observational real-world studies (RWS)
- Strong analytic skills for analyzing real-world data, including big electronic medical datasets
- Proficient in using statistical software (SAS, R, or Python)
- SAP writing experience
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural context as a good team member
- Great potential and capability to provide statistical leadership to cross-functional teams at the study level
- Effective English communication skills in relating to colleagues and associates both inside and outside the organization
Responsibilities
- Interact with CRO to supervise and provide inputs to data management and statistical analyses, ensuring timeliness and quality of statistical deliverables
- Advise internal Medical team on study design, data management, statistical analysis, interpretation of results, and publications from statistical perspectives
- Perform programming and analytical activities for data cleaning and statistical deliverables in post-hoc analyses using secondary use of pre-existing medical databases
- Align with stakeholders on planning, delivering, and communicating statistical analyses, data presentations, scientific reports, and publications
- Comply with all statistics and quality processes and standards applicable to statistical outputs, and support processes requiring statistical input
- Continuously assess the growth and accessibility of external real-world data assets, evaluate data quality and fitness-for-purpose, and develop compliant engagement models with data providers
- Perform other duties as assigned
