About this role

Join Amgen's mission to serve patients living with serious illnesses. As a Medical Science Liaison in Oncology, you will interact with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform, particularly in prostate cancer.

In this vital role, you will communicate complex innovative scientific information and research concepts to academic medical centers and other key stakeholders. You will also engage in clinical and pharmacoeconomic value discussions with payers and formulary decision makers.

You will identify and train members of Amgen's speakers' bureau, ensuring they are updated on new data. Additionally, you will respond to investigator-sponsored research proposals and support Amgen-sponsored research, fostering scientific relationships with fellows in training.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in a health sciences field (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, DO).
  • Strong scientific background in oncology, particularly prostate cancer.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in clinical research and drug development within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Willingness to travel within the Texas territory to engage with healthcare decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers.
  • Identify and train members of Amgen's speakers' bureau and ensure they are updated on new data.
  • Respond to requests for investigator sponsored research proposals.
  • Support Amgen sponsored research.
  • Provide scientific support for commercial, corporate accounts, and other matrix colleagues who may forward HCP inquiries.
  • Foster scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training.
  • Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
