About this role
Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Pharmacology, the Executive Director will manage a team of scientists providing Clinical Pharmacology support in Oncology therapeutic focus areas. The role is accountable for the successful and timely completion of all assignments in support of corporate strategic goals, applying both logistical and strategic initiatives as well as novel scientific approaches.
A day in the life may include managing and mentoring a broad spectrum of individual contributing scientists and Directors in concert with other PMx Executive Directors. The Executive Director is accountable for the PK/PD evaluation of assigned portfolio of products or projects that are highly complex and wide in scope.
The Executive Director supports the professional development of scientists, provides executive guidance to managers, and ensures adherence to all applicable SOPs and PMx working practices. They are responsible for performance management and assessment of staff, providing technical guidance and mentoring within the function and across the organization.
This role is influential across the organization, including individual contributors, functional managers, and senior management. The Executive Director contributes to the development of Clinical Pharmacology functional strategy and provides functional level sign off for agreed documents as designated by the Vice President.
Requirements
- PhD in pharmacokinetics or a biological or related discipline (e.g., pharmacology, toxicology, biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science).
- 20 years of experience in Clinical Pharmacology.
- Mastery level of PK/PD knowledge and strategic leadership skills.
- Experience in Oncology therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a broad spectrum of scientists and Directors.
- Ability to provide functional level sign off for documents and contribute to functional strategy.
- Strong understanding of applicable SOPs, PMx working practices, and corporate code of ethical conduct.
Responsibilities

- Utilize mastery level of PK/PD knowledge and strategic leadership skills to develop and implement strategic analyses in support of development projects.
- Support the professional development of scientists and provide executive guidance to managers.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable SOPs, PMx working practices, and the corporate code of ethical conduct.
