About this role

The High Resolution and Automated Microscopy department is part of Fraunhofer Translational Neuroinflammation and Automated Microscopy TNM, the Göttingen site of Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP. We improve understanding of cellular phenotypes in diseases and identify drug targets using super-resolution microscopy, genome editing, and advanced image analysis. As Business Development Manager, represent technologies and services at trade fairs, engage potential customers, and develop new business opportunities.

Modern microscopy techniques like STED enable analysis of protein localization at nanometer scale in diseased cells. Coordinate external strategic positioning of Fraunhofer TNM and drive acquisition of research projects focused on industry collaborations. Analyze market trends and customer needs to adapt and refine the portfolio continuously.

Join a multidisciplinary team of biologists, physicists, and data scientists creating added value for clinical and pharmacological research. Support the institute head in business strategies and strategic partnerships. Represent the institute at trade fairs and client meetings while aiding advertising materials and external communications.

Build a strong bridge between science and industry, translating expertise into market-relevant solutions. Contribute to better understanding of cellular changes in diseases through detecting clinically relevant abnormalities. Help grow the institute by identifying market needs and fostering relationships with clients and partners.

Requirements

  • Degree in a natural science field, ideally with a Ph.D.
  • Experience in industry and knowledge of strategic project development
  • Strong project coordination, program management, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Collaborative and personable approach, coupled with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Quick comprehension, a structured and independent work style, and team spirit

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the external strategic positioning of the Fraunhofer TNM site and further develop its activities within Fraunhofer health research
  • Drive the acquisition and growth of research projects, with a focus on industry collaborations
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to support portfolio and strategy development
  • Support the head of the institute in developing business strategies and strategic partnerships
  • Represent the institute, along with its products and services, at trade fairs and client meetings
  • Support the team during the production of advertising materials and the management of external communications
