About this role

The department of Prof. Stefan Jakobs at Fraunhofer ITMP TNM in Göttingen uses super-resolution microscopy, genome editing, and advanced image analysis to understand cellular phenotypes in diseases and identify drug targets. As Business Development Manager, represent technologies and services at trade fairs, engage potential customers, and develop new business opportunities. Identify market and customer needs to adapt and refine the portfolio.

Strategically position ITMP TNM externally and drive acquisition of research projects focused on industry collaborations. Analyze market trends and customer needs to support portfolio and strategy development. Represent the institute at trade fairs and client meetings while supporting business strategies and strategic partnerships.

Join a multidisciplinary team of biologists, physicists, and data scientists using STED microscopy to analyze protein localizations at nanometer scale in diseased cells. Contribute to understanding cellular changes in various diseases for clinical and pharmacological research. Build a strong bridge between science and industry.

Support the Head of the Institute in developing business strategies and the team in producing advertising material and managing external communication. Help create added value through super-resolution microscopy methods. Position initially limited to two years with part-time options available.

Requirements

  • Completed a degree in a natural science field; a PhD is desirable but not required
  • Experience in industry and knowledge of strategic project development
  • Project and program management experience
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, personable approach
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Quick grasp, structured and independent way of working, and good team spirit

Responsibilities

  • Strategically position ITMP TNM externally and further develop its activities within Fraunhofer health research
  • Drive the acquisition and growth of research projects with a focus on industry collaborations
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to support portfolio and strategy development
  • Support the Head of the Institute in developing business strategies and strategic partnerships
  • Represent the institute, its products, and services at trade fairs and client meetings
  • Support the team in the production of advertising material and managing external communication
  • Identify market and customer needs to continuously adapt and refine the portfolio
