The Head of CAPLYTA leads a national MSL organization, providing scientific and educational support to healthcare professionals while ensuring compliant, customer-centric engagement. They set and implement the vision for a fast-growing organization and therapeutic area field strategy. They also establish organizational strategy and oversee its execution at a national level.
This role provides coaching and development to Field Directors using a skills framework and leadership coaching principles. The MSL Head facilitates and maximizes their team’s appropriate access to healthcare professionals by removing obstacles and coordinating field activities. This promotes effective scientific engagement across the nation.

Requirements
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in medical affairs, specifically in field medical or MSL leadership.
- Deep knowledge of neuroscience therapeutic areas, including psychiatric disorders such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop and manage a national team of MSLs and Field Directors.
- Ability to set and implement strategic vision for a therapeutic area field medical organization.
- Excellent understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for scientific engagement with healthcare professionals.
- Experience in facilitating access to HCPs and coordinating field activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a national organization of Medical Science Liaisons and Field Directors in providing scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal partners.
- Ensure customer-centric, insight-driven, and compliant scientific engagement across the nation.
- Set and implement the vision for a fast-growing organization and therapeutic area field strategy.
- Establish the organizational strategy for the specific disease area and oversee its execution at a national level.
- Provide support, coaching, and development to Field Directors using a skills framework, ongoing feedback, and leadership coaching principles.
- Offer coaching, conduct development assessments, and provide guidance for MSLs in the organization.
- Facilitate and maximize the team’s appropriate access to healthcare professionals by removing obstacles and coordinating field activities.
- Monitor and anticipate changes in the therapeutic landscape to inform strategic direction.
