About this role
Inizio Engage Canada has partnered with an emerging biopharmaceutical company to form a dynamic team of Medical Science Liaisons for a central nervous system (CNS) product. As a full member of the medical affairs team, you will support the company, its products, and therapeutic areas while advancing scientific and collaborative relationships.
In this role, you will act as an intermediary for timely scientific exchanges with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, investigators, payers, and drug evaluation committees. You will be the primary communicator for the scientific aspects of the client's products and execute the national medical affairs plan within your territory.
You will study and understand the medical landscape to implement a medical plan addressing scientific gaps, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Medical Science Liaison and/or the Director of Medical Sciences. You will systematically identify and develop relationships with healthcare professionals to raise awareness of the client's mission to accelerate the invention and adoption of life-changing medicines for CNS disorders.
This 6-month contract offers the possibility of renewal and is based in Montreal and surrounding areas. You will join a team focused on a CNS product and have the opportunity to support other programs in development, contributing to innovative therapies that change patients' lives.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD) or equivalent experience in a medical or scientific field.
- Bilingual in French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals in the CNS therapeutic area.
- Strong understanding of the medical landscape and ability to interpret and disseminate complex scientific data.
- Experience in executing medical affairs plans and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of sleep medicine and CNS disorders is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Montreal region as needed.
Responsibilities
- Study and understand the medical landscape to implement a medical plan addressing scientific gaps, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Medical Science Liaison and/or the Director of Medical Sciences.
- Identify and systematically develop relationships with healthcare professionals to raise awareness of the client's mission to accelerate the invention and adoption of life-changing medicines for CNS disorders.
- Lead efforts to recognize, identify, nurture, and establish relationships with key opinion leaders in specific therapeutic areas, identifying opportunities for scientific growth and medical evidence generation.
- Identify, develop, and manage relationships with key opinion leaders across a continuum of promotion to support company objectives and enhance reputation as a scientifically innovative partner.
- Acquire and maintain a high level of scientific knowledge in sleep medicine and CNS, interpreting and disseminating relevant scientific/clinical data and evaluating current and new information as it applies to therapies.
- Ensure tactical implementation of programs according to set objectives and serve as a resource for training and disseminating relevant, clear, and balanced scientific information to internal and external audiences.
- Communicate important information gathered from peer discussions with healthcare professionals.
- Identify, analyze, and translate specific needs within the territory to achieve clinical and commercial objectives.
