The Medical Science Liaison program is a field-based group of medical professionals with deep content knowledge about specific disease states. This role focuses on GI/Thoracic Oncology, interacting with Scientific and Clinical Experts primarily in the Midwest region.

MSLs provide leading researchers and practitioners with the scientific and clinical knowledge that most meaningfully addresses their needs. This requires efficient synthesis of the latest research on products, disease states, and standard of care for specific indications. The MSL responds to diverse medical information needs based on customer requests.

Through emotional intelligence and strategic thinking, the MSL acts as a primary interface between Lilly Medical and Scientific/Clinical Experts. They connect experts with other Lilly resources and facilitate collaborative research opportunities. This role partners with clinical development to accelerate the pipeline.

By facilitating scientific exchange between industry and the scientific community, MSLs shape the future of healthcare. They provide required information that addresses important clinical and scientific questions. Continuous learning enables them to maintain the highest level of technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline.
  • Substantial research experience or clinical training in a relevant therapeutic area.
  • Deep content knowledge about GI and thoracic oncology disease states and treatments.
  • Proven ability to synthesize and communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience engaging with scientific and clinical experts in a field-based role.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, drug development, and regulatory landscape.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region (Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky).

  • Provide leading researchers and practitioners with the scientific and clinical knowledge that most meaningfully addresses their needs.
  • Efficiently synthesize latest research on products, disease states, and standard of care for specific indications and therapeutic areas.
  • Respond to diverse medical information needs based on customer requests as a reliable, trusted resource of unbiased, accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Act as one of the primary interfaces between Lilly Medical and Scientific/Clinical Experts, delivering a positive experience.
  • Connect experts with other Lilly resources or internal business partners to support evidence sharing and address clinical care gaps.
  • Facilitate collaborative research opportunities and partner with clinical development in support of studies and investigators to accelerate the pipeline.
