About this role
The Construction Manager leads large-scale capital investment and site master plan initiatives within an active manufacturing environment. This role provides technical leadership across project management, construction execution, and operational readiness. Ensure safe, high-quality delivery of complex projects while supporting a $100M construction portfolio and long-term asset reliability.
Direct and oversee construction delivery teams with hands-on daily oversight of field activities for safe execution and quality workmanship. Monitor daily progress, proactively address site issues, and drive schedule adherence using collaboration systems. Review construction change notices, cost reports, and payment applications to maintain project control.
Collaborate with on-site engineering, design teams, system owners, and third-party partners in a regulated pharmaceutical setting. Lead coordination of activities interfacing with existing operations using clean construction practices. Partner with project controls, vendors, municipal authorities, and utilities as needed.
Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering design through system turnover. Provide weekly updates on progress, risks, and milestones, plus monthly reporting on financials and schedule status. Support SOPs, preventive maintenance, and quality documentation for sustained site performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience managing capital project construction
- Pharmaceutical construction experience with strong knowledge of practices and regulated manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with pharma and biologics packaging facilities, equipment, and packaging line installations
- Knowledge of hygienic design and clean construction practices in active manufacturing sites
- Experience developing integrated project schedules for design, construction, commissioning, validation, and turnover
- Familiarity with reviewing cost reports, change requests, and construction documentation
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee construction delivery teams, including internal stakeholders, third-party partners, and safety resources
- Manage assigned construction scope for safe execution, quality workmanship, and functional outcomes through daily field oversight
- Collaborate with on-site engineering, design teams, system owners, and project engineering services to achieve milestones
- Monitor daily field progress, address site issues, and remove execution barriers
- Review, assess, and resolve construction change notices
- Drive schedule adherence by engaging field teams and leveraging site-based tools
- Maintain strong construction safety culture and coordinate activities interfacing with operations using clean practices
- Provide weekly updates and monthly reporting on progress, financials, schedule, and risks
