Oregon Health & Science University seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients across all age groups, from neonates to elderly patients. This position offers the opportunity to work in a leading academic medical center, making high-level clinical decisions and recommendations regarding medication therapy in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will function at advanced decision-making levels, proactively affecting medication use by making recommendations during prescribing decisions or making independent therapy decisions in cooperation with healthcare team members. Your responsibilities will include facilitating medication reconciliation, providing discharge counseling, coordinating care from admission to discharge, and serving as a drug authority in specialized oncology practice areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, resolve and document complex therapeutic problems in oncology patients
  • Monitor therapeutic response and adverse effects of medications to guide drug therapy
  • Provide drug information to physicians, nurses, patients and families
  • Direct and evaluate the performance of students and residents
  • Assist in developing treatment guidelines for specific oncology diagnoses
  • Participate in medication reconciliation and discharge planning
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify medication accuracy
  • Contribute to interdepartmental education programs

Experience Requirements

Inpatient hospital pharmacy practice experience including oncology, critical care, and acute care settings

Education Requirements

BS in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. plus PGY-1 Practice Residency or Specialist Certification (BCCCP, BCPS, etc.)
