The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist I to join our outpatient pharmacy team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans through comprehensive pharmaceutical services.
As a Pharmacist I, you will work under minimal supervision to assess, prepare, dispense and coordinate all day-to-day dispensing functions of the pharmacy in a timely and accurate manner. You will use your clinical knowledge, skills, and judgment to review orders and ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill prescriptions in the outpatient pharmacy utilizing computerized filling software with complete accuracy
- Evaluate appropriateness of dose, route, formulation, allergies, medication interactions, and monitoring requirements
- Provide supervision and direction to pharmacy technicians and students in day-to-day dispensing functions
- Communicate with healthcare professionals as a drug information resource and provide patient education
- Document interventions in medical records and prioritize workload based on patient needs
- Serve as IPPE student preceptor providing training and education as appropriate
Experience Requirements
1+ years experience as a pharmacist in retail or hospital setting with advanced skills
Education Requirements
BS or Doctorate of Pharmacy from accredited college of pharmacy, Arkansas pharmacist license required
