About this role
The Weaver Medicinal Chemistry Research Lab at the Krembil Research Institute is a multi-disciplinary group of computational and synthetic chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, and behavioural neuroscientists. Our goal is to design and develop new therapeutic molecules for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will help design and synthesize new chemical entity small molecules as putative drug platforms.
You will conduct multi-step synthesis of small molecules using state-of-the-art synthetic chemistry techniques. Maintain lab books and data records while following all safety protocols. Manage processes for ordering, receiving, and maintaining lab supplies, and update chemical inventory as required.
Work closely with computational chemists and biologists in a large, diverse research group. Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines, integrating data from non-chemistry sources. The lab is part of UHN, Canada’s top research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto.
Assist in preparation of grant applications and publications. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students as required. Contribute to UHN’s vision of building a healthier world through research in neurosciences, oncology, and more.
