Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.

Responsible for the communication and presentation of results to the project team to facilitate effective decision making. Plays a key role in the rapid optimization of lead molecules utilizing modern technology like automated synthesis and purification. Participates in a multidisciplinary team committed to continuous improvement of the lead optimization process.

Designs, plans, and conducts synthesis of intermediates and analog libraries while communicating results to the project or program team. Requirements

  • Proficiency in organic synthesis techniques for intermediates and bioactive compounds
  • Expertise in purification methods including HPLC and automated normal phase chromatography
  • Experience with NMR spectroscopy for compound characterization
  • Knowledge of parallel and combinatorial synthesis approaches
  • Ability to perform quantitative analyses of chemical data
  • Skills in designing analog libraries for lead optimization
  • Familiarity with medicinal chemistry technologies for rapid compound optimization

Responsibilities

  • Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize intermediates and bioactive compounds using column chromatography, HPLC, automated normal phase purification, NMR, and parallel or combinatorial synthesis
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
  • Communicate and present results to the project team to facilitate effective decision making
  • Play a key role in the rapid optimization of lead molecules utilizing automated synthesis and purification
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team committed to continuous improvement of the lead optimization process and expeditious identification of development compounds
