Health Care Service Corporation is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to play a key role in executing strategic priorities focused on unlocking value and quality for physicians by reducing complexity of care and elevating clinical results. This position offers the opportunity to work with innovative clinical programs and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for performing activities associated with administration and management of pharmacy programs including developing and maintaining disease state formulary systems, utilization management programs, specialty pharmacy management, and medication therapy management. You'll work closely with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and develop recommendations for managing prescription drug programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain pharmacy-related program tools including disease state formularies and medication utilization evaluations
  • Perform comprehensive Medication Therapy Management (MTM) reviews and develop Medication Action Plans
  • Review medication profiles for potential drug interactions, duplicate therapy, and controlled substance misuse
  • Communicate recommendations to physicians and collaborate on revising drug therapies for individual members
  • Assist in clinical pharmacy education for providers around practice guidelines and formulary systems
  • Develop pharmacoeconomic tools to measure the effectiveness of clinical pharmacy services
  • Identify opportunities for optimizing generic utilization and preferred specialty pharmacy use

Experience Requirements

3+ years professional experience in managed care and/or ambulatory care

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and must be a Registered Pharmacist in the United States in good standing
