We are recruiting for a motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Denver Health's Federico F. Pena Southwest Family Health Center. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will supply medications and other pharmaceuticals needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and regulatory requirements while educating patients and healthcare workers about drug usage, adverse reactions, side effects, and contraindications.
Under general supervision, you will manage the day-to-day activities of pharmacy support staff and serve as a consultant on medication-related issues. This role involves interpreting and clarifying medication orders, researching drug information requests, monitoring drug therapies for appropriateness and formulary adherence, and providing therapeutic drug monitoring of targeted medications as applicable.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Interpret and clarify orders for all types of medications
- Research and respond promptly to drug information requests
- Monitor drug therapies for appropriateness and formulary adherence
- Provide therapeutic drug monitoring of targeted medications
- Monitor drug therapy for potential drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-disease interactions
- Advise patients, family and medical staff on medication usage including dosage, side effects, and interactions
- Directly supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff as required by Colorado Board of Pharmacy
- Prepare or oversee compounding, labeling and packaging of sterile or non-sterile medications
- Assist in development and maintenance of policies and procedures
- Maintain secure storage and records of all medications in accordance with regulatory requirements
Experience Requirements
1-3 years PGY1 residency completion preferred
Education Requirements
Doctorate Degree PharmD preferred or BPharm required
