A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Jordan Meier aimed at defining the functional consequences of site-specific RNA modifications using engineered in vitro transcription platforms. This research sits at the crossroads of chemical biology and RNA biochemistry.
Work will involve solid-phase transcription, preparation of regionally modified mRNAs, and functional characterization of modified transcripts. A background in RNA biochemistry or nucleic acid synthesis is preferred for these experimental procedures.

Requirements
- PhD in Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Background in RNA biochemistry or nucleic acid synthesis.
- Experience with solid-phase transcription and in vitro transcription platforms.
- Proficiency in preparation of regionally modified mRNAs.
- Experience with functional characterization of modified transcripts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining detailed experimental records.
Responsibilities
- Define the functional consequences of site-specific RNA modifications using engineered in vitro transcription platforms.
- Perform solid-phase transcription to generate modified RNA transcripts.
- Prepare regionally modified mRNAs for functional characterization.
- Conduct functional characterization assays to assess the impact of RNA modifications.
