St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Memphis, US · Full-time · $72,500 – $72,500

About this role

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Jordan Meier aimed at defining the functional consequences of site-specific RNA modifications using engineered in vitro transcription platforms. This research sits at the crossroads of chemical biology and RNA biochemistry.

Work will involve solid-phase transcription, preparation of regionally modified mRNAs, and functional characterization of modified transcripts. A background in RNA biochemistry or nucleic acid synthesis is preferred for these experimental procedures.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world-class institution dedicated to pediatric cancer. It is the first NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. The 300 faculty work in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment, including a Nobel laureate and members of the National Academies.

Postdoctoral trainees at St. Jude benefit from a blend of academic freedom and industrial efficiency, with access to shared resources and cutting-edge technology. Customized professional and career growth programs, including grant writing workshops and non-research career advancement, are designed to enhance career readiness.
