About this role
Join a highly technical analytical method qualification team in a dynamic work environment. You will participate in contracted client analytical programs as a member of the Analytical Development Department. This role focuses on executing method qualification protocols and performing elementary data analysis in the analytical laboratories.
The analyst performs routine testing using bio-analytical techniques such as HPLC, SDS-PAGE, SDS-CGE, ELISA, and UV-Vis. You regularly exercise technical discretion in the execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals while making detailed observations.
You will collaborate closely with your manager to complete responsibilities in a laboratory setting. The position requires maintaining instrumentation knowledge, electronic notebook upkeep, and adherence to safety procedures for chemical handling and hazardous waste disposition.
Maintain familiarity with current scientific literature to sustain professional expertise. React productively to change while supporting additional essential tasks as assigned within the analytical development function.
Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related area (or equivalent training) and 2-3 years of experience or a Master's degree and 0-2 years of experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in its most difficult phases and a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Responsibilities

- Exercise technical discretion in the execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.
- Make detailed observations and carry out elementary data analysis.
- Understand experiments and conduct troubleshooting analysis.
- Maintain and update knowledge of instrumentation.
- Perform electronic notebook upkeep and demonstrate strong writing skills.
- Maintain familiarity with current scientific literature to sustain professional expertise.
- Assure proper labeling, handling, and storage of chemicals while adhering to all safety requirements.
