The Biostatistician I supports the Biostatistics Department’s mission to enhance the quality of research conducted at UAMS by providing statistical services. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences combines education, research, and clinical programs that encourage teamwork and diversity.

Staff work in the COM I Biostatistics Shared Resource assisting research projects across the institution. The role focuses on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans through collaborative health care initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related field
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, or SPSS
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with data management in medical research settings
  • Strong analytical skills for biomedical and pharmaceutical studies

Responsibilities

  • Support statistical analysis for research studies and clinical projects
  • Assist investigators with study design and data interpretation
  • Prepare reports and summaries for grant applications and publications
  • Apply statistical methods to clinical and biomedical datasets
  • Collaborate with faculty on research methodology and compliance
