About this role

Natera is a clinical genetic testing company specializing in non-invasive, cell-free DNA testing. We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison to support Signatera, our personalized, tumor-informed minimal residual disease test for oncology.

In this field-based role covering the New York territory, you will engage healthcare providers, share peer-reviewed clinical data, and deliver accurate information that proactively informs disease management. The MSL operates with a high degree of ownership and urgency, delivering advanced genetic testing data that changes patient outcomes when timing and accuracy matter most.

You will build strong scientific relationships with oncology healthcare providers and key opinion leaders, execute territory plans aligned to Medical Affairs priorities, and bring back actionable insights from the field. The role requires extensive travel (over 60%) for clinical engagement and conferences, working collaboratively with commercial and clinical teams while maintaining absolute scientific integrity.

This position offers the opportunity to shape how advanced genetic testing is understood and applied in oncology, influencing patient care at a global level. You will adapt quickly to emerging scientific needs across the portfolio and support research initiatives at academic institutions.

Requirements

  • Advanced healthcare or scientific degree preferred (Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., D.N.P.), with a minimum of a Master's degree required.
  • Prior Medical Affairs or MSL experience in oncology or molecular diagnostics preferred.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory (New York).
  • Deep knowledge of oncology disease states, clinical data, and the evolving diagnostics landscape.
  • Ability to travel extensively (over 60%) across the territory for clinical engagement and conferences.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills to engage effectively with healthcare providers and KOLs.
  • Proven ability to maintain compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations in field activities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain scientific relationships with oncology healthcare providers and KOLs within the defined territory.
  • Deliver accurate, balanced, and clinically relevant education on Natera’s oncology molecular diagnostics and clinical data.
  • Execute territory plans aligned to Medical Affairs priorities with speed and agility.
  • Identify and communicate field insights, including oncology treatment trends, unmet clinical needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries in a timely, compliant, and scientifically rigorous manner.
  • Support execution of Medical Affairs initiatives, including advisory boards and medical education programs.
  • Collaborate across teams with commercial and clinical functions to ensure organizational alignment for patient care while maintaining scientific integrity.
  • Track territory engagement and document actionable clinical insights to inform Medical Affairs strategy.
