About this role

The Therapeutic Area Medical Science Liaison (TA MSL) is a credible scientific partner providing clinical and health economic information related to disease states and appropriate utilization of Genentech medicines, approved and pipeline. This field-based position engages healthcare providers, population health decision makers, and patients within their region to further patient outcomes aligned with Genentech objectives.

In collaboration with regional partners, TA MSLs co-create the local medical strategy and deliver for customers. They may cover multiple medicines, engaging in broad scientific discussions about patient outcomes and total cost of care. This generates rich customer insights shared with key stakeholders across the organization.

TA MSLs ensure end-to-end customer experience for therapeutic area specific customers in the region. They build and leverage relationships with key external scientific and medical customers to understand evolving healthcare trends. Proficiency extends to value/cost of care discussions and AE management.

Demonstrate deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules, products, and therapeutic areas like Breast & Gynecologic Oncology. Engage in continuous learning within the therapeutic area with active participation in upskilling programs. Adhere to guidelines and procedures while exchanging relevant information with thought leaders.

Requirements

  • Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA etc.) or BSN with extensive field medical experience with a pharmaceutical company
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience (clinical, managed care, or industry experience)
  • Proficiency in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICH
  • Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles
  • Familiarity with managed care, health economics, reimbursement, and legal and regulatory landscape in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Prior experience as a field medical science liaison
  • 2 or more years’ clinical or health economic research experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Phase IV/post-marketing drug development

Responsibilities

  • Ensure end-to-end customer experience for therapeutic area specific customers in the region
  • Demonstrate deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas to exchange relevant information with thought leaders and healthcare decision makers
  • Build and leverage relationships with key external scientific and medical customers to understand evolving healthcare trends
  • Demonstrate proficiency in topics beyond scientific exchange, such as value/cost of care discussions and AE management
  • Co-create the local medical strategy in collaboration with regional partners
  • Engage in continuous learning within the therapeutic area and participate in upskilling programs
  • Adhere to guidelines and procedures while sharing customer insights with stakeholders
