About this role
PromptCare is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Reimbursement Specialist to join our team in the Homecare Infusion industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in infusion reimbursement and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This role involves patient billing and collections, insurance data collection, verification, and authorization from start to finish. You will manage documentation and computer input for new referrals and subsequent patient admissions, always following PromptCare’s policies and procedures.
Reporting to a Departmental Lead, Supervisor, or Manager, you will work collaboratively with Intake and Reauthorization Specialists to ensure timely collections. You will also support the PBM and Billing Specialist with issues, backlogs, and end-of-month processes.
This hybrid position, based out of New Providence, NJ, offers a Monday-Friday schedule with 40 hours per week. If you are detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare billing and collections, this is an exciting opportunity to grow in the infusion industry.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in electronic claims submission and medical collections preferred
- Working knowledge of insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid required
- Industry experience with billing/collections in DME, home infusion, and/or enteral preferred
- Accounts receivable and accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of CPR+ and/or Caretend software preferred
Responsibilities
- Collections of third-party payor accounts for assigned payers
- Ensure proper follow-up on all aspects of the revenue cycle related to reimbursement, including denials management and research
- Maintain and update shared documentation to assist the Intake Team with insurance plan policies, rules, and limitations
- Identify adjustments, payment trends, and denials, and escalate problems as necessary
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of patient care, employee activities, and office environment
- Field and troubleshoot calls from patients regarding benefits, claims, and patient balances
- Proactively seek resolutions to any billing issues that may arise
- Perform CPR+/Caretend related transactions accurately and timely
