About this role

This role leads the enterprise business relationship with assigned Retail Chain Pharmacy and Retail Buying Group customers on behalf of Pfizer. As the Trade National Account Director, you will be the retail pharmacy expert responsible for developing an intimate knowledge of customer strategies and capabilities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing priority US Market Access national account strategies to position Pfizer as the partner of choice. You will manage the annual customer engagement schedule, translate brand and portfolio priorities into strategic meeting agendas, and negotiate all retail pharmacy agreements including vaccines portfolio contracts and Master Service Agreements.

You will collaborate closely with internal Pfizer stakeholders to deliver optimized retail programs and enhanced patient experiences across the entire portfolio. This position requires hosting internal customer status meetings and POD meetings to align cross-functional teams around ongoing initiatives and challenges.

This 12-month secondment offers the opportunity to serve as the enterprise expert on retail business models and the impact of an evolving healthcare environment. You will ensure customers recognize Pfizer as the partner of choice based on the quality and value of our contracts and collaborations.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic account plans for retail pharmacy customers
  • Deep understanding of retail pharmacy business models, contracting, and the evolving healthcare environment
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements including Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and compliance programs
  • Ability to quickly assess customer challenges and problem-solve while involving the right colleagues to drive execution
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to align internal teams around customer initiatives
  • Expertise in measuring contract performance and making data-driven recommendations
  • Knowledge of vaccines portfolio and retail pharmacy product agreements

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and track priority US Market Access national account strategy to position Pfizer as the vaccines and retail products partner of choice
  • Lead all aspects of priority Retail Chain Pharmacy account business planning and execution aligned to Channel Management operating plans
  • Manage the annual customer engagement schedule and translate brand, channel team, and portfolio strategic priorities into meeting agendas
  • Maintain master-knowledge of the customer in terms of contract, performance status, challenges, and opportunities
  • Negotiate and manage all Retail Chain Pharmacy agreements including vaccines portfolio agreements, Master Service Agreements, and brand-specific Statements of Work
  • Host internal customer status meetings and POD meetings to drive ongoing initiatives and align cross-functional teams
  • Measure and assess the performance of all contracts and make recommendations and adjustments based on performance and contract terms
  • Maintain detailed understanding of customer organization, strategies, and operations, and provide management with early information on emerging trends and policies
