About this role
At Abbott's Established Pharmaceuticals division, the Medical Science Liaison works from the Riyadh field site. This role brings benefits of trusted medicines to fast-growing countries across gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management, and respiratory areas. Access current medical and scientific information on relevant therapeutic areas.
Provide scientific and technical support to key opinion leaders and academic centers. Act as scientific expert in the therapeutic area and develop resources for the therapy team. Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians individually or in groups.
Maintain contacts with physicians and opinion leaders in the assigned geographic area. Establish relationships with medical specialist groups and societies for research, advisory, and educational partnerships. Support sales/marketing/internal teams with scientific update presentations.

Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management, and respiratory
- Experience engaging key opinion leaders and academic centers in pharmaceutical settings
- Proficiency in scientific presentations and communication to medical professionals
- Understanding of medical affairs, clinical trials, and investigator meetings
- Ability to handle scientific queries and adverse event reporting
- Familiarity with competitor intelligence in product strategies and studies
- Skills in supporting compassionate use requests under regulatory requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and technical support and help maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers
- Act as scientific expert in the therapeutic area and develop resources for the therapy team
- Provide assistance on special projects including medical affairs, continuing medical education, advisory boards, and key opinion leader development
- Provide specialist support in response to internal and external queries including adverse event reporting
- Maintain contacts with physicians and opinion leaders to satisfy their needs for scientific knowledge
- Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians individually or in groups
- Establish and develop relationships with medical specialist groups and medical societies
- Attend relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences and develop summaries of key messages
