About this role
The WANG Lab at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Department of Neurological Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and medical imaging. This role focuses on developing and applying AI and data science methods for disease diagnosis, prognosis, biomarker identification, and treatment prediction.
The postdoctoral researcher will work on deep learning, machine learning, and medical image processing using Python, MATLAB, SPSS, and Shell scripting. Daily tasks include designing and implementing segmentation algorithms, analyzing medical imaging data on Linux workstations, and interpreting results to advance neurological disease understanding.

Requirements
- PhD by time of hiring in a relevant field such as Computer Science, statistics, mathematics, automation, informatics, or Engineering
- Experience in deep learning, machine learning, and medical imaging processing
- Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, SPSS, and Shell scripting
- Experience working with Linux workstations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to self-direct work
- Ability to work as a team member
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and image segmentation methods for medical imaging analysis
