About this role
We are seeking a Senior Group Director in Quantitative Pharmacology to manage a team across one or more therapeutic focus areas. The role holds accountability for timely completion of QP activities supporting Drug Safety and Pharmacometrics. The position covers assets from Early Clinical Development through submission and beyond.
A typical day involves managing and mentoring individual contributing scientists while delivering performance management and targeted training. The director provides technical guidance across the function and broader organization. Strategic leadership ensures PK/PD evaluations advance complex portfolio projects.
The role requires mastery of PK/PD knowledge to develop and implement strategic analyses for research and development. Accountability extends to wide-scope or highly complex projects that impact the business. Opportunities exist to identify process improvements and solve problems with broad organizational reach.
This position suits leaders who inspire colleagues toward PMx and company goals while influencing change across functions. Contributions to multi-disciplinary meetings draw on cross-functional expertise. The role also supports long-term career development for QP staff.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience (Ph.D.) or 12+ years (M.S.) in modeling and simulation, PK/PD, systems pharmacology, and quantitative drug development strategies
- Hands-on usage of a broad range of quantitative tools and systems with a strong publication record
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to convey complex information succinctly
- Strong collaborative skills with proven ability to build alliances and influence multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to handle all project types and leverage higher-level staff for technical input on complex work
- Proven experience interacting with regulatory agencies without supervision to develop regulatory strategy
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a broad spectrum of individual contributing scientists
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring of colleagues within the function and across the organization
- Conduct performance management and assessment of staff while providing guidance and training
- Utilize mastery-level PK/PD knowledge and strategic leadership to develop and implement strategic analyses
- Take accountability for the PK/PD evaluation of a portfolio of products or highly complex projects
- Identify opportunities for process and procedural improvements
- Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
