The Senior Director of Medical Affairs Operations reports to the Head of Medical Affairs, acting as a strategic thought partner to the MALT.

This role delivers operational leadership and alignment across Medical Affairs, optimizing objectives, processes, and resources for impact. It drives excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and oversight of field operations, insights, and analytics. The position ensures discipline in execution to support organizational growth.

Day-to-day involves shaping strategy with MALT, leading KPI planning and reporting, and developing dashboards for performance visibility. Responsibilities include process evolution, SOP refinement, and financial stewardship through budget forecasting. Cross-functional alignment with teams like Medical Strategy and IEGT fosters seamless priorities.

In a dynamic biotech environment, the role facilitates team communication, knowledge management, and field intelligence capture. It supports regional expansion, transformation, and capability building for scalable impact. Executive communications synthesize performance for leadership and board audiences.

Requirements

  • Proven operational leadership in Medical Affairs within pharmaceutical or biotech settings
  • Experience driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment in oncology-focused organizations
  • Expertise in KPI development, performance tracking, and dashboard creation for Medical Affairs
  • Strong background in process development, SOP refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated financial stewardship including budget forecasting and resource allocation in pharma
  • Skilled in risk assessment, mitigation, and executive-level communications
  • Knowledge of field operations management, insights capture, and analytics translation
  • Track record supporting strategic initiatives like organizational transformation and capability building

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Medical Affairs and MALT, shaping operational strategy and execution
  • Drive cross-functional team planning and alignment, ensuring operational discipline and seamless execution of priorities
  • Lead KPI and objectives planning, tracking, and reporting for accountability and transparency
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks for real-time visibility into performance, risks, and resource utilization
  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation with fiscal discipline
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks with proactive management and escalation
  • Provide oversight of field operations, insights generation, and analytics to inform strategy
  • Establish central knowledge management systems and facilitate team communication across Medical Affairs
