The Process Engineer II facilitates technology transfer of client processes and executes engineering functions including design, scale-up, and documentation. This role functions as a program lead with direction from functional group leadership.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing batch records and leading process activities for client-specific formulation and filling operations. The engineer oversees critical operations such as equipment preparation, bulk product formulation, sterile filtration, and filling support.

The engineer works under functional group leadership while providing guidance and training to supporting team members. They act as an SME for GMP investigations and interact directly with clients for routine discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field of study
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or related industry
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in process engineering work
  • Experience with aseptic fill/finish preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety instructions, standard operating procedures, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develops batch records and leads process activities for client-specific formulation and filling operations
  • Oversees critical operations including equipment preparation, bulk product formulation, sterile filtration, and filling support
  • Acts as an SME for GMP investigations (CAPA, departures, CCRs) from initiation to closure
  • Finalizes closure reports for departures assigned to process engineering
  • Directs client interaction for routine discussions, summarizing engineering work verbally and in writing
  • Identifies and specifies process-specific equipment based on facility, client, and program needs
  • Authors instructions for equipment operation and details process flows in the cleanroom facility
  • Designs and provides training on operation tasks and client programs and processes
