About this role

Join Takeda as an Associate Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy within U.S. Patient and Market Access (PAMA). Develop and oversee sustainable U.S. market access and channel strategies for assigned GI Rare and Sleep Disorder products in GI2 and NSBU. Ensure patients gain access to Takeda's existing and future products.

Contribute to value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, and payer/channel marketing resources for in-line and pipeline products. Manage and execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives. Align on metrics to assess impacts of key market access strategies and tactics.

Ensure close collaboration with Managed Markets and Patient Access colleagues, Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Sales. Capture payer and channel insights, identify data gaps, and develop compelling value propositions. Equip field-based teams with the right tools while understanding the reimbursement landscape.

Collaborate with HEOR on payer evidence needs integrated into Medical/HEOR plans. Partner with New Product Planning and Business Development for market access inputs on early stage assets. Contribute to annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting representing payer and channel segments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in biopharma required; biopharma market access experience highly preferred (across payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, specialty pharmacy, etc.)
  • Understanding of U.S. payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels
  • Knowledge of biologics and specialty products preferred
  • Experience working across Medical, Legal, Finance, Analytics, Public Affairs, etc.
  • Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation
  • Analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making
  • Knowledge of the commercial brand planning processes preferred
  • Travel ~10% (domestic)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee sustainable market access and channel strategies that will allow patients to gain access to Takeda’s existing and future products
  • Responsible for value story development, contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, reimbursement, and marketing resources
  • Ensure close collaboration with other Managed Markets and Patient Access colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Sales
  • Understand the reimbursement landscape and incorporate knowledge into market access and pricing strategy
  • Collaborate with HEOR in the development of payer evidence needs and ensure it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan
  • Align within the organization on metrics to assess impacts of key market access strategies and tactics
  • Manage and execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives
  • Contribute to the annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting process to represent payer and channel customer segments
