About this role

The (Senior) Medical Director supports the medical business goals and objectives of Sobi’s rheumatology products, providing strategic leadership and tactical execution. This role delivers strategic and scientific medical affairs leadership for a Rheumatology product in development. Help develop and implement the US medical strategy, tactical plans, and HCP engagement plans, supporting a potential US launch.

Partner with field medical to engage and educate health care providers, medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups. Work closely with the medical field team to develop KOL and key institution engagement plans. Participate in KOL development, advisory boards, webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and congress presence.

Develop a US evidence generation strategy addressing HCP, payer, and patient needs, including product differentiation and health outcomes. Oversee medical affairs-led research initiatives like US Phase IV clinical programs and Investigator Initiated Study strategy. Collaborate with HEOR, global partners, and scientific communications for timely data integration into field materials.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise as disease state and product expert in rheumatology
  • Experience providing medical affairs leadership for products in development
  • Knowledge of HCP, payer, and patient advocacy group engagement
  • Familiarity with evidence generation including Phase IV studies and post-hoc analyses
  • Ability to represent medical science organization on cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and scientific medical leadership for the rheumatology product in development
  • Become a disease state and product expert, providing feedback and insights to medical affairs deliverables and cross-functional partners
  • Work closely with the medical field team to develop KOL and key institution engagement plans
  • Participate in KOL engagement and development, establishing Sobi as a scientific partner of choice
  • Plan and execute advisory boards and educational activities including webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and congress presence
  • Develop US evidence generation strategy to address stakeholder needs, overseeing Phase IV programs and Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Partner with scientific communications to inform timely communication of key scientific data
  • Collate medical insights in partnership with the field team and share internally
