About this role

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products, as well as the daily maintenance of testing equipment. This role ensures that all products meet established quality standards and procedures.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive quality control testing, accurately analyzing test data, and documenting results in a detailed and organized manner. The technician prepares comprehensive test reports highlighting deviations from standard values and provides initial interpretation of findings.

The technician works closely with cross-functional teams including production, R&D, and quality management to communicate test results and quality issues. They also collaborate with production operators to resolve quality-related issues during the shift and provide technical support on quality control matters.

This position offers opportunities to participate in internal and external audits related to quality control, contributing to continuous improvement in a pharmaceutical environment. The role also involves maintaining SOPs, test records, and equipment calibration certificates, which builds expertise in quality systems.

Requirements

  • College degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical laboratory equipment such as pH meters, balances, and titrators.
  • Knowledge of quality control testing methods and procedures in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret test data and identify deviations from standard values.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document results accurately.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive quality control testing of raw materials, intermediate, and finished products in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Analyze test data accurately, document results in a detailed and organized manner, and prepare comprehensive test reports highlighting deviations from standard values.
  • Communicate test results, quality issues, and recommended solutions to cross-functional teams including production, R&D, and quality management.
  • Operate and maintain various types of laboratory test equipment through routine inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions, and report major problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the quality of the production process during the shift and collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Conduct investigations to determine root cause when nonconforming product is detected, propose corrective and preventive actions, and follow up to ensure effectiveness.
  • Comply with all laboratory safety regulations and quality management system requirements, and maintain quality-related documents including SOPs, test records, and calibration certificates.
