The Principal Medical Science Liaison is a field-based member of the US Medical Affairs team at Baxter. Interact with the scientific clinical community, key opinion leaders, researchers, and medical educators. Serve as point of contact for investigator-initiated research support and opportunities for Baxter sponsored research.

Develop professional relationships with KOLs in key therapeutic areas. Participate in training and education sessions, deliver clinical/scientific presentations, and attend medical congresses and company-sponsored symposia. Collaborate with internal medical affairs and commercial teams to provide scientific information for new product launches.

Requirements

  • Healthcare professional background with ability to interact with scientific clinical community and KOLs
  • Experience serving as point of contact for investigator-initiated research (IIR) and sponsored studies
  • Expertise in developing relationships with KOLs in key therapeutic areas
  • Proficiency in presenting balanced scientific data and crafting educational forums
  • Knowledge of company policies, applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Ability to identify scientific opportunities and threats to the portfolio
  • Skills in supporting health outcomes and real-world evidence strategies

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish, and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and health care professionals
  • Attend and provide scientific support at regional, national, and international medical conferences
  • Support advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, educational forums, and organize roundtable and educational meetings
  • Identify and communicate new scientific findings, opportunities, or threats impacting the portfolio
  • Provide medical and scientific support for health outcomes, real-world evidence, and payer/provider engagements
  • Deliver clinical/scientific presentations and participate in training and education sessions
  • Collaborate with internal medical affairs and commercial teams on product strategies and publications
