The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based position in Medical Affairs that supports PTC and its products. It represents the company to key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, academic institutions, and professional organizations.

The MSL addresses specific client needs by responding to unsolicited requests for information about PTC marketed and developing products. As the clinical and medical expert, builds long-term relationships with clinicians through highly scientific product and disease state discussions. Ensures safe and effective utilization of products while serving as a resource on market dynamics and client feedback.

This 12-month contract role offers engagement with national and regional medical meetings, advisory boards, and educational programs. Contributes to regional medical initiatives supporting transformative therapies for rare diseases. Maintains awareness of therapeutic advances, competitor information, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Advanced clinical or scientific expertise in rare diseases or relevant therapeutic areas
  • Experience responding to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and clinicians
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory, compliance, and quality standards
  • Familiarity with fair-balanced scientific presentations and medical education programs
  • Understanding of market dynamics and competitor landscapes in biopharmaceuticals
  • Field-based experience engaging with academic institutions and patient organizations

Responsibilities

  • Attend national and regional medical meetings and symposia as a representative of PTC and engage in discussions with attendees
  • Deliver fair-balanced and objective clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals, payors, and patient organizations in response to unsolicited requests
  • Identify and train speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs using regulatory approved materials
  • Contribute to regional/local medical initiatives such as advisory boards, sponsored seminars, and clinical research programs
  • Establish, manage, and maintain successful relations with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and patient organizations
  • Facilitate accurate and timely submission of applications for unrestricted educational grants or research initiatives per company policy
  • Maintain thorough awareness of medical/clinical, regulatory, compliance, and quality issues in PTC therapeutic areas
  • Maintain competitor information relevant to company’s therapeutic areas and stay current on therapeutic advances
