About this role

The Medical Affairs Scientist serves as the medical and scientific point of contact for healthcare professionals, medical societies, regulators, academia, and external stakeholders. This role upholds the highest scientific standards, independence, and compliance in all activities. It covers Czech Republic (80% FTE) and Slovakia (20% FTE), requiring the colleague to be based in Czech Republic.

Day-to-day involves delivering high-level medical expertise, managing assigned products in migraine/internal medicine, and conducting compliant medical-to-medical communications. Responsibilities include engaging opinion leaders, organizing scientific events, and responding to medical information requests. The scientist collects insights from HCP interactions to identify unmet needs.

Within the Medical Affairs department, the role demonstrates medical leadership, fosters collaboration, and supports field force training with approved data. Partnerships with medical societies enhance external engagement. Internal processes ensure medical integrity aligns with business objectives.

Supporting product strategies involves reviewing promotional materials for accuracy, providing input on marketing plans, and contributing to clinical development. Participation in scientific meetings and advisory boards drives medical dissemination. This position offers opportunities to influence therapeutic area strategies in a compliant environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced medical or scientific degree suitable for internal medicine and migraine therapeutics
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical Medical Affairs or equivalent scientific role
  • Strong knowledge of compliance standards in medical communications and external engagements
  • Ability to deliver scientific presentations and engage with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Proficiency in medical review of promotional and competitive materials
  • Experience supporting field medical training and KOL mapping
  • Familiarity with Investigator-Sponsored Research policies
  • Fluency in English with working knowledge of Czech for Czech Republic-based role

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement plans and maintains compliant medical-to-medical interactions
  • Provides internal and external medical expertise related to assigned products and therapeutic areas
  • Organizes and prepares medical education events for the scientific community in alignment with strategy and compliance
  • Identifies medical training needs and delivers training to sales representatives using approved data
  • Supports definition of Therapeutic Area strategies and executes in-country medical strategy for assigned products
  • Reviews and approves promotional materials and labeling for medical accuracy and compliance
  • Participates in scientific meetings, advisory boards, and supports Investigator-Sponsored Research projects
  • Collects medical insights and unmet needs from HCP interactions
