The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) supports the Oncology and Rare Diseases portfolio across North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo.

The role is predominantly field-based with a hybrid component, focusing on high-quality scientific interactions with stakeholders through engagements, educational activities, and medical projects. The MSL acts as a scientific expert, maintaining up-to-date knowledge for compliant scientific exchange and contributing to local medical strategy implementation. Essential office-based tasks include internal coordination, planning, and documentation.

Reporting to the Medical Affairs Manager, the MSL serves as the primary medical contact for key healthcare professionals and KOLs in Oncology or Rare Diseases. Builds collaborative relationships and ensures cross-functional communication with commercial and market access teams. Systematically captures and shares medical insights from the field to inform decision-making.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific or medical background suitable for expert-level scientific exchange in Oncology and Rare Diseases
  • Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas to enable credible scientific discussions
  • Experience engaging key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals in pharma or biotech settings
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data compliantly
  • Understanding of local clinical practices, unmet needs, and stakeholder priorities in the Balkans region
  • Skills in planning and delivering scientific education programs and advisory boards
  • Proficiency in capturing and synthesizing field insights for strategic medical planning
  • Field-based experience in medical affairs supporting commercial and market access functions

Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow the medical footprint for the Oncology and Rare Diseases portfolio across North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo, in collaboration with Medical Affairs and cross-functional partners
  • Identify, engage, and develop long-term scientific partnerships with key external medical experts and KOLs relevant to Oncology or Rare Diseases
  • Enable high-quality, compliant scientific exchange by communicating complex scientific and clinical information to stakeholders per SOPs and regulations
  • Drive disease and scientific education through planning and delivering external medical education initiatives, symposia, advisory boards, and scientific meetings
  • Support pre-launch and lifecycle medical activities for products and pipeline assets across North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo
  • Serve as a recognized scientific expert in therapeutic areas, generating, interpreting, and communicating relevant scientific data
  • Act as primary medical point of contact for defined KOLs, building relationships and facilitating cross-functional communication
  • Capture, synthesize, and share actionable medical insights from the field to support evidence-based decision-making and medical planning
