BioTechnique is a sterile injectable full service CDMO providing cytotoxic and therapeutic sterile injectable fill-finish services. From IND applications through commercial scale production, we provide formulation and compounding, fill-finish, and lyophilization services for liquid injectables. We utilize our team’s expertise to create process designs that best suit clients’ needs.

We are hiring an experienced Formulation Scientist for our York, PA team. This full-time, on-site role involves strategizing, planning, developing, optimizing, and executing formulations for sterile injectables. Successful candidates bring strong pharmaceutical manufacturing background with knowledge in sterile liquid products and lyophilization.

Develop formulations, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and evaluate customer needs to establish unique compounding processes. Conduct pre-formulation studies, participate in manufacturing fills, and optimize lyophilization cycles. Provide technical guidance while troubleshooting risks using experimental methods.

Requirements

  • Strong background in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge in sterile liquid products
  • Strong knowledge in lyophilization
  • Understanding of properties of drug substances and excipients
  • Experience evaluating impact of formulation components on product stability, compatibility, quality, and efficiency
  • Ability to adapt or modify experimental methods to achieve technical objectives
  • Expertise in analytical testing for formulations

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize formulations and process flows for sterile injectable and liquid products
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to plan, schedule, and drive formulation, development, and manufacturing activities
  • Evaluate customer needs to establish and develop unique formulation and compounding processes
  • Develop, design, and conduct pre-formulation and formulation studies/trials and analytical testing
  • Participate in manufacturing fills
  • Develop and optimize lyophilization cycles for new and existing products
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise, troubleshooting and resolving potential risks or issues
  • Prepare and review formulation related documentation and reports, including protocols, procedures, and stability reports
