About this role

The Area Director of Clinical Operations & Engagement manages Advanced Practice Clinicians in an assigned territory. This role oversees clinical care for a localized patient population and directly manages the clinical care team. Core functions include enhancing team performance through clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and protocol compliance.

Regularly audit documentation and coding of care team members for compliance and quality. Serve as clinical and workflow expert, resolving inquiries from providers and facility staff. Visit on-site to observe and optimize clinical skills and workflow.

Foster an engaging culture through communication, expectations, and regular team meetings. Assign providers to facilities to ensure coverage and manage vacancies collaboratively. Maintain active knowledge of facility leadership and resolve concerns promptly.

Work with recruitment and HR on the selection and hiring process for new employees, ensuring effective onboarding and training. Provide frequent and timely performance feedback to reports. May assist with initial training and onboarding of new ADCOEs in other geographic locations.

Requirements

  • Clinical Masters or Doctoral Degree
  • National certification for area of specialty
  • Current professional licensure in area of specialty within the state of practice
  • Previous long-term care experience required
  • Experience leading healthcare teams a plus
  • Strong knowledge of clinical documentation and coding standards
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory for on-site visits
  • Experience with clinical quality data analysis and productivity reporting

Responsibilities

  • Foster an engaging culture among teammates and reports, ensuring team cohesion through communication, setting expectations, and leading regular team meetings.
  • Regularly review and audit documentation and coding of all care team members to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Receive and analyze clinical quality data and clinician productivity reports, reacting and counseling team members as needed to maintain standards.
  • Act as clinical and workflow expert for providers, facilitating resolution of clinical inquiries from providers, facility personnel, and family members.
  • Regularly visit on-site with care team members to observe and optimize clinical skills and workflow.
  • Assign providers to facilities and manage coverage to ensure all contracted services are covered, including managing vacancies and communicating collaboratively with facilities.
  • Work with recruitment and HR on the selection and hiring process for new employees, ensuring effective onboarding and training.
  • Provide frequent and timely performance feedback to reports.
