As Translational Research Scientist in Oncology, bridge the gap between cutting-edge molecular assays and clinical outcomes. Own the analysis of clinical data and develop sophisticated statistical models to validate Northstar oncology products. Play a pivotal role in designing and executing clinical studies.

Lead a fast-growing team reporting to the Associate Director of Oncology Translational Research. Partner with R&D scientists to translate lab breakthroughs into clinical insights and collaborate with clinical trial operations. Work onsite in a full-time position with numerous internal and external teams.

Generate insights from assay performance in clinical cohorts for high-impact publications and regulatory submissions. Present complex statistical findings to stakeholders, investigators, and conferences. Contribute to redefining molecular diagnostics and changing the standard of care.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Cancer Biology, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field
  • 2+ years of experience working with clinical datasets and conducting survival analysis (specifically Cox PH and time-to-event modeling)
  • Proven track record of analyzing and cleaning large-scale clinical data from trials or electronic health records (EHR)
  • Fluency in Python or R for statistical computing and data visualization
  • Deep understanding of oncology and the clinical applications of NGS-based diagnostics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-experts

Responsibilities

  • Lead the cleaning, preprocessing, and integration of complex clinical datasets with molecular informatics
  • Develop and implement robust clinical-statistical models, including Cox Proportional Hazards, Kaplan-Meier estimates, and logistic regression
  • Provide data-informed recommendations for the design and analysis of clinical studies
  • Analyze assay performance within clinical cohorts and contribute to high-impact publications and regulatory submissions
  • Partner with R&D scientists to translate laboratory breakthroughs into clinical insights and collaborate with clinical trial operations
  • Present complex statistical findings and clinical insights to internal stakeholders, clinical investigators, and at scientific conferences
