The Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) department leads the design, operation, and maintenance of buildings, HVAC systems, utilities, and installations across sites in Belgium. Our mission is to safely manage the infrastructure lifecycle with reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

As Manager Process Engineering, act as senior technical authority for process, maintenance, and asset-related topics. Provide guidance on complex technical decisions, designs, and risk assessments while balancing safety, compliance, reliability, sustainability, and cost effectiveness. Review and endorse technical studies, designs, and deliverables from internal teams and external consultants.

Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, setting clear objectives aligned with site and E&PS strategies. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Provide senior engineering support to large projects in utilities, facilities, and infrastructure.

Leverage external consultants for comprehensive process scoping and feasibility assessments. Ensure adherence to legislation, J&J standards, internal procedures, and GxP requirements. Build an outstanding workplace experience while contributing to the global Facilities organization through knowledge sharing and expertise.

Requirements

  • Expertise in process engineering for pharmaceutical production and utilities
  • Knowledge of maintenance and asset management in chemical and R&D facilities
  • Experience with HVAC systems, centralized production, and distribution systems
  • Proficiency in GxP requirements, compliance, and risk assessments
  • Ability to review technical designs, business cases, and commissioning strategies
  • Leadership skills for multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Familiarity with audits, inspections, and engineering governance
