The QC Chemist performs routine and non-routine chemical and biochemical assays on protein-based therapeutics and raw materials.

Conduct various QC testing including product release, stability, in-process, and protocol testing as directed by supervisors. Compile and enter data into the LIMS database for reporting and trending purposes. Review test results against specifications to ensure quality standards.

Share responsibilities for laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, housekeeping, and inventory of consumables and reagents. Maintain daily sample logs for timely testing and tracking. Keep Instrument Usage and Calibration Logs based on sample preparation and testing activities.

Strictly adhere to procedures, practices, and documentation according to FDA regulations. Follow departmental corporate safety policies in a GMP and FDA-regulated environment. Support 24-hour, 7-day plant operations with flexible working hours and shifts.

This role emphasizes protein biochemistry and analytical methods in a dynamic lab setting. Other duties may be assigned, and qualifications may evolve over time to meet company needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or closely related scientific discipline
  • Related experience in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated testing laboratory preferred
  • Basic understanding of analytical methodologies and protein biochemistry (e.g. IC, HPLC, GC)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to make structured decisions
  • Proactive, results oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in MS Office
