About this role
We are searching for a Bioinformatics Scientist to provide support services to satisfy the overall objectives of the National Institute of Aging. This is a full-time opportunity located in Baltimore, MD. The role involves working with human population-based studies featuring omics, clinical, phenotype, and wearable/sensor data.
Provide programming, data processing, and troubleshooting support for these studies. Perform computational analyses using established bioinformatics and statistical methods for multi-omics and wearable datasets. Integrate findings into epidemiological research for impactful results.
Process raw data through quality control, alignment, quantification, normalization, and generation of analysis-ready datasets. Conduct large-scale genome-wide DNA and protein sequence analysis. Assist with development and maintenance of Oracle database for genomics and proteomics projects in the Translational Gerontology Branch.

Requirements
- Master’s Degree
- A minimum of ONE (1) year of experience working in bioinformatics, biomedical or clinical research, or related science field
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD 'public trust'; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their public trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse
Responsibilities
