About this role
The Department of Biostatistics Clinical Trials Data Management Center seeks a Biostatistician I. Under team leaders' direction, this role conducts analyses, communicates findings to collaborators, and collaborates on multi-center clinical research. The team handles statistical analysis plans, randomization schemes, reports, data sharing, and publication support.
This position works closely with center teams to design data collection forms using standards and produce FAIR datasets. It engages in all aspects of multi-center study operations. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects with clinicians of varying backgrounds and specialties.
Daily tasks involve preparing and reviewing data for validity, creating programs for summaries and analyses using statistical packages, and performing sample size calculations. The role assesses data assumptions, suggests analysis techniques, and organizes analysis programs and datasets. Data sets are prepared for public use and funding agencies under guidance.
Consultation duties include advising investigators on statistical methods and preparing statistical sections for studies. Assist with reports for investigators and funding agencies. May supervise project-specific tasks and contribute to presentations and publications.
Requirements
- Knowledge of statistical methods for clinical trials
- Proficiency with statistical packages for analysis and reporting
- Ability to perform sample size calculations
- Experience validating data and assessing analytic assumptions
- Familiarity with clinical research data standards and FAIR principles
- Skills in preparing statistical reports and sections for publications
