
About this role
The Process Engineer II analyzes processes and applies best practices to plan, develop, budget, and execute improvement initiatives. These efforts reduce costs while enhancing safety and quality for better customer service and profitability. The role supports multiple manufacturing facilities with direct interface to commercial customers.
This position rotates periodically through various manufacturing and commercial sites every 12 to 18 months. Daily work involves applying engineering techniques to improve manufacturing processes in coordination with Lean and HBS efforts. Focus areas include boosting efficiency, minimizing inconsistencies, and reducing downtime to enhance OEE.
Engineers lead and manage process and capital projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. They collaborate with Operations to develop standard work, drive productivity, and review KPI systems. Training and consultation are provided to production and maintenance teams for continuous improvement integration.
Opportunities exist to prepare expenditure proposals and present findings to management. The role builds strategic thinking and change management skills across diverse environments. It offers exposure to ISO standards and data analysis tools in a dynamic industrial setting.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel and PowerPoint expertise plus AutoCAD engineering software
- Experience using lean and continuous improvement methodology
- Strong strategic thinking and business problem solving skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and similar achievement standards
- Experience with data analysis, operations management and business intelligence tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering techniques to analyze and improve manufacturing processes in support of Lean and HBS efforts
- Lead, facilitate, and manage process and capital projects using Lean/Six Sigma tools to reduce costs and improve customer experience
- Develop best practices and standard work with Operations to solve manufacturing problems and drive productivity improvements
- Prepare accurate expenditure proposals and cost justification analyses for plant and corporate management review
- Assemble reports to document process status and changes
- Train and consult site production, maintenance, and engineering personnel on technical systems to drive continuous improvement
- Review plant KPI monitoring systems to identify ways to meet or exceed company goals
