Oversee data analytics to identify and prevent controlled substance mismanagement and drug diversion. Coordinate timely investigations of suspected diversion with site leaders and the Drug Diversion Response Team. Perform audits on regulatory requirements, USP documentation, and compliance records while assisting with medication safety event investigations.
Collaborate with internal and system pharmacy, operational, and clinical leadership to maintain open communication and provide updates on findings. Participate in meetings on drug diversion, compliance, safety, security, and accreditation. Serve as primary liaison between pharmacy operations, compliance, and leadership for consistent adherence.
Evaluate workflow modifications to prevent diversion and meet regulatory needs, while tracking REMS program compliance. Requirements
- Licensed pharmacist with Georgia Board of Pharmacy (GA BOP) registration
- Knowledge of federal requirements including DEA, DSCSA, and FDA regulations
- Expertise in controlled substance accountability and diversion prevention
- Familiarity with USP standards and accreditation survey readiness
- Experience in data analytics for drug diversion detection
- Ability to conduct regulatory audits and compliance documentation reviews
- Skills in investigating medication safety events
Responsibilities
- Oversees and optimizes data analytics related to identification and prevention of controlled substance mismanagement and drug diversion
- Coordinates timely investigations of suspected drug diversion with site leaders and Drug Diversion Response Team
- Assists with education, coaching, and training following diversion cases or deviations from standard operating procedures
- Performs audits related to regulatory requirements, USP, and compliance documentation
- Assists with investigating pharmacy medication safety events and participates in multi-disciplinary meetings
- Evaluates and facilitates workflow modifications to prevent diversion and meet regulatory requirements
- Serves as primary backup to the controlled substance coordinator
- Reviews and presents key performance indicator data on regulatory compliance to leadership
