About this role

Perform various assigned activities under close supervision as a student worker in support of research projects in pharmacology and toxicology. This role involves duties with a greater level of responsibility than a Student Researcher I. Contribute to the SOM-Pharmacology/Toxicology-Operations team.

Day-to-day tasks include performing assigned activities as directed to aid research efforts. Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety and environmental policies and procedures. Follow detailed instructions to ensure accurate support for experiments.

Work in a research environment on the main campus with occasional exposure to biohazards, toxic chemicals, and physical demands. Handle occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Occasional travel to offsite locations may be required.

As a current college student, gain hands-on involvement in pharmacology and toxicology research. Duties are general examples, with management retaining the right to add or change responsibilities. Build practical skills in a university medical center setting.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices

  • Tolerance for physical demands including lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Comfort with biohazardous conditions and chemicals
