As a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer, you will work with a team of talented bioinformatics engineers and scientists. You will create and maintain bioinformatics pipelines to advance Helix’s mission. You will play a leading role in designing and implementing reliable and innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment.
You will develop pipelines, architect AWS infrastructure, and analyze data insights for algorithm improvements. Design test cases and contribute to regulatory documentation in design control processes. This role demands precision in a regulated setting focused on genomics.

Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. Technical Degree (e.g. Computer Science, Bioinformatics or similar)
- 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with developing NGS bioinformatics pipelines
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience with Cloud computing environment
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Open to learning new skills and not afraid to step outside of the comfort zone
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and document bioinformatics pipelines in a regulated environment
- Architect and maintain supporting infrastructure in AWS
- Analyze and generate data insights to support development and improvements of bioinformatics algorithms
- Design and develop test cases and test scripts
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of regulatory documentation as part of the design control process
