About this role

Join us as a Lead Technician in Quality Control at our Schenectady, NY location, where we blend vitamins and nutrients for customers and operate as a Food manufacturing site. Your role is to analyze and test under GMP raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using validated or compendia methods.

You will autonomously accomplish analysis in the laboratory, preparing standards, mobile phases, and reagents while maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting lab equipment like ICP, HPLC, and IR. You will also perform calculations, collect and prepare data for evaluation, and review data to ensure accuracy prior to reporting.

As a team leader within a lab unit, you will enforce GMP and safety rules, validate results, and orient and train new colleagues. You will also investigate OOS/NI results and support other laboratory team members with investigations, keeping your supervisor informed of work status and suggesting follow-up actions.

Requirements

  • Lead Technician Quality Control experience in a regulated, ISO, lab certified or manufacturing environment (Dietary supplements, infant formula, 3rd party testing, etc.)
  • Experience with lab investigations including root cause analysis
  • Experience with ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma)
  • LIMS platform experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GMP and safety rules
  • Ability to enforce good documentation practices

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously accomplish analysis in the laboratory
  • Prepare standards, mobile phases, and reagents
  • Maintain, calibrate, validate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (ICP preferred, HPLC, IR, etc.)
  • Analyze raw materials, intermediates, stability samples, and finished products by various analytical and instrumental methods
  • Perform calculations, collect and prepare data for evaluation, and review data to ensure accuracy prior to reporting
  • Orient and train new colleagues
  • Perform administrative lab tasks such as updating Specification sheets and SOPs (LOP's and TM's)
  • Investigate OOS/NI results and support other laboratory team members with investigations
