About this role
Zoetis is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support global pharmacovigilance signal management. The role translates complex safety information into clear, decision-ready insights for PV leadership and stakeholders. It strengthens routine safety monitoring and improves consistency of PV insights.
This position advances signal detection using new technologies to reduce false positives and build trust through reproducible analysis. It standardizes signal review outputs like evidence summaries and trend context across diverse data sources. End-to-end signal tracking ensures transparent lifecycle documentation.
Continuously improve PV data quality including completeness, consistency, and timeliness. Deliver easy-to-digest views such as dashboards and automated reports for safety trends. Enable leadership-ready insights via regular updates and quarterly reviews.
Partner with PV leadership and digital/automation teams to evolve technology capabilities. Translate needs into requirements, support testing, adoption, and training. Ensure continuity with minimal disruption while expanding analytics for animal health data.
Requirements
- Python/R, SQL, and Git – essential baseline requirements
- Databases including relational (required) and graph databases (nice to have)
- Statistical modeling (e.g. linear modeling, ANOVA, DoE) and machine learning (supervised and unsupervised)
- GenAI / LLM experience
- Text data wrangling and analysis
- Model deployment understanding of dev, QA, and production environments
- Emphasis on Data Science background for working with PV domain experts
Responsibilities
- Advance signal detection and early alerting by leveraging new technologies to reduce false positives
- Standardize signal review outputs including evidence summaries, trend context, and case-series characterizations
- Maintain end-to-end signal tracking and lifecycle documentation for transparency
- Improve PV data quality in completeness, consistency, de-duplication, coding, and timeliness
- Deliver dashboards, scorecards, and automated reports for safety trends and data reliability
- Enable leadership-ready insight delivery through regular updates, ad hoc escalations, and quarterly reviews
- Partner with PV leadership and digital teams to evolve signal management capabilities
