About this role
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) seeks a Quality Assurance Pharmacist to deliver exceptional services to the Office of Chief Medical Officer. This role ensures the quality of Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee functions, including preparation and facilitation of meetings. It demands advanced claims auditing and understanding of state and federal regulations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include ongoing management of the Pharmacy Drug List (PDL) and support and auditing of supplemental and Federal rebate programs. The position requires Virginia pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire. In-office needs cover attending in-person meetings, external stakeholder engagements, and occasional conferences.

Requirements
- Knowledge of managed care pharmacy
- Experience working with pharmacy claims and related analytics
- Experience with functions of a Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
- Experience in creating and analyzing healthcare standards
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience working with state and/or federal regulations
- Experience managing multiple priorities concurrently to meet deadlines
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Current pharmacist license or ability to attain licensure in Virginia within 3 months
